Amazon Tribal Songs

Bruce Parry presents Amazon / Tribe Songs for Survival

Bruce Parry, star of the BBC series ‘Tribe’ and the forthcoming ‘Amazon’, has teamed up with some of the music world’s brightest stars to create a fundraising album for Survival International, the human rights organization for tribal peoples.
Bruce has worked with producer Martin Terefe on the album that includes KT Tunstall, (Black Eyed Peas), Johnny Borrell (Razorlight), Mystery Jets, Jason Mraz, Yusuf Islam, Hot Chip, the Go! Team and Mike Oldfield. In addition, Guy Berryman, Jonas Bjerre (MEW), Magne F. (A-ha) and Terefe have formed a new band specially for the CD called Apparatjik, and recorded a track that will also be used for the end credits of Amazon. Every track on the album is exclusive, and has been written especially for the project.
The first half of the album is entitled ‘Amazon’ and features songs inspired by Bruce Parry’s new series of the same name, to be shown on BBC2 in September. The second half, entitled ‘Tribe’, is a collection of dance/experimental songs which all use samples of tribal music Bruce recorded when living with the indigenous people during the making of his hugely popular BBC show Tribe.
Bruce Parry has spent years immersing himself in some of the world’s most remote tribal cultures. His first hand experience of the threats so many tribal people face to their very survival lay behind his determination to help them. He said today, ‘I’ve got so much from my time with tribal people that I really wanted to do something for them in return. Being able to bring together this fantastic group of musicians seemed like a perfect way of doing that – and it’s been wonderful to see how they’ve been inspired, in turn, by some of the incredible tribal music we’ve recorded.’
Bruce’s new 6 part series Amazon starts on BBC2 on 15th September. The album will be released digitally on the same day with a physical CD released later on 13th October.
If you would like to interview Bruce about the album he will be available for interviews on 4th September.

Star Children

" We are the self-reflection of the universe. We allow the universe to know and feel itself. So the universe is aware of itself through self-reflective mind, which unfurls the human. We were brought forth so that these experiences of beauty could enter awareness. The primeval fireball existed twenty billion years without self-awareness. The creative work of the supernovas existed for billions of years without self-reflective awareness. That star could not, by itself, become aware of its own beauty or sacrifice. But the star can, through us, reflect back on itself. In the sense you are the star.
Look at your hand - do you claim it as your own? Every element was forged in temperatures a million times hotter than molten rock, each atom fashioned in the blazing heat of the star. Your eyes, your brain, your bones, all of you is composed of the star's creations. You are the star, brought into a form of life that enables life to reflect itself. So yes: the star does know of it's great work, of its surrender to allurement, of its stupendous contribution to life, but only through its further articulation - you."

Earth Angels by Stewart Pearce

“It was no longer a secret. In many ways they were like the dynamic, yet peaceful atmosphere they emanated. Loving, radiant, generous, warm…………they always appeared to be in the right place at the right time. These were the people who had remembered with courage to listen to their hearts, to their instinct, to their soul. These were the people who treated others with kindness, and turned their ideas into action, and their dreams into realities. Mutual welfare, co-creativity and community benefit was their salutation. Crisis equals opportunity was their motto.
LIFE was revered as the most potent of forces, and so they never feared the shadow of death, knowing it to be an illusion.
So strong was their spirit, that everywhere they went they inspired others with luminous integrity……an integrity that gently spread loving mists of encouragement through the layers of amnesia which kept others from claiming the true memory of their destiny. So they inspired others to be led by the contents of their heart and spirit, and so moved others to stretch their minds and to cultivate elasticity.
This was no fairy tale. No woolly headed idealists were they. These people gained their resilience from swimming upstream, through years of confrontation, through their transmutation of personal trauma, and through transforming the fear about daring to be different when socially opposed. These people gained their freedom by penetrating their own pain, and the void of their own alone-ness.
These were the ones whose lives were rich with painful experiences, ones that had gracefully flowered through self-knowledge, through the power of reaping abundance from adversity, and through revealing their compassionate hearts. These were the ones who, before they moved into other dimensions of being, remembered to reclaim their power whilst on earth. These are the EARTH ANGELS.”

Age of Aquarius

"The Aquarian alignment 14th February 2009
We measure our global sense of both space (latitude and longitude) and time (universal time - UT or GMT) from the prime meridian located at Greenwich, England. So we can perceive the collective influence of this momentous astrological event by looking at the alignment from this globally ‘centered' perspective.

At dawn on 14th February the day dedicated to St Valentine, the patron saint of Love, the Moon in Libra enters the seventh house of relationships. And Jupiter and Mars are aligned in Aquarius in the twelfth house of spiritual transformation.
Forty years ago, the intuitive words of a song called Aquarius, brought the dawning of the new age into our collective awareness:

When the Moon is in the seventh house
and Jupiter aligns with Mars.
Then peace will guide the planets
and love will steer the stars

At dawn on 14th February the Cosmos actually embodies this perfect alignment to support our collective manifestation of love and peace and dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
The Aquarian chart of 14th February reveals an incredible concentration of cosmic influences blending with the energies of Aquarius in the twelfth house. Expansive Jupiter and energetic Mars are aligned with the higher purpose of the North Node. The presence of Chiron the wounded healer offers us the opportunity to heal the schisms that have separated us for so long. Neptune emphasizes collective humanitarian movements and the co-creation of social justice. And the presence of the radiant Sun enlightens the entire alignment.

Mercury also in the twelfth house but just beyond the cusp in Capricorn, allies with transformational Pluto to communicate and anchor the Shift throughout our global structures and institutions.

The Moon in Libra in the seventh house emphasizes harmonious relationships.
Venus in Aries in the first house energizes and empowers dynamic co-creativity.
And whilst Saturn the great task master in opposition to Uranus the unexpected awakener is suggesting an ongoing confrontation as the dregs of the unsustainable old paradigm reluctantly give way to the untested hope of the new, their placements in Virgo and Pisces brings practical altruism and visionary inspiration to the transition.

At 7.25am on 14th February - and for the 18 minutes of the alignment, I invite you, in the universal heart, to add your own intention for love and peace and to co-create the dawning of the Age of Aquarius to that of the Cosmos. In whatever way feels appropriate for you, you may choose to align with7.25am (UT) or 7.25am your own local time energizing a wave of intention that will surge around the Earth.

Please feel free to circulate this information, the Aquarian chart and its cosmic invitation to birth the Age of Aquarius."
